About our hydroponic growing
Our hydroponic growing systems are supported by reused egg wash water, closing another part of the BioCircular loop. Some of what we grow goes to market as flowers, herbs and seasonal farm products, and some goes straight back into the hens' diet — the farm-grown marigolds and leafy greens are what give our yolks their deep orange colour. Morning Star Fields lists this as an expanding line alongside eggs, so availability is seasonal and limited while we scale it.

How does hydroponic growing connect to the eggs?
Two ways. Egg wash water that would otherwise go down a drain feeds the growing beds, and the marigolds and leafy greens we grow go back into the hens' diet, which is where the orange yolk colour comes from.
